The Coat I Never Thought I’d Be Reaching For All Autumn

I have known for a while that I’ve wanted to incorporate some bright pops of colour back into my wardrobe, and with the start of Autumn – I thought it was a great opportunity to get started! Late 2016 I focused on decluttering, moving from vibrant pieces that didn’t match to a more neutral range of colours, so I wouldn’t have to worry about clashing and I could easily throw on outfits in the morning.

Since this has come almost full circle – and while I absolutely love neutral tones, especially as a base layer for any and all of my outfits – I’ve come to appreciate pops of colour again in a pretty big way.

With the beginning of Autumn comes a mix of darker shades that I’d been excitedly stocking up on in anticipation – the olive greens, the maroon-y reds – but one colour I’ve always been excited to wear but never really known how? Mustard.

When I was browsing through BoohooMAN’s site and saw their mustard raincoat a few months back (and for £10, too! Bargain!) I couldn’t resist from picking one up, and figuring out how to work it into some select outfits.

Wearing: Yellow Raincoat, Grey Abercrombie Tee & Black Jeans

I got the coat in a small, and it runs pretty large – it’s almost like the length of a topcoat, where I thought it might suit better if it cut in around my hips.

The raincoat is super easy to throw on, and although it’s such a vibrant colour, it’s a lot easier to mix and match with outfits than I thought it would be. I’ve fallen in love with it, and when I’m wearing it I get a nautical-fisherman-vibe, but in all the right ways.

It’s definitely a perfect coat for those early Autumn days, where the weather hasn’t dropped substantially yet – the sun is still shining and you’re not entirely sure if you’ll need a jacket. It’s lightweight, and it’s breathable. And for £10, too? That’s definitely not an option I was about to turn down.

Do you have a favourite Autumn jacket right now?

Happy Pinning!
