Good morning guys! I’m sorry that I haven’t posted in a while, I had no idea how busy November/December would suddenly become! This past weekend I was actually back in Paris, so I’ve got some more posts from my favourite city that will be posted over the coming days – full of Christmassy photo galore!
If you want to see my snaps from the city in the meantime (or generally keep up with me on a day-to-day basis), then make sure to follow me on Instagram over here (I’m also trying to get more and more into the Instastories routine, because I love posting them and the feedback you guys give me about them!)
I’ve loved the ‘Week in Outfits’ series that The Everygirl run on their blog, featuring different women with different jobs and how they dress/present themselves throughout the week. You can tell so much about someone from the clothes they wear – I think it’s almost like a behind the scenes into their personality, so I’ve been really inspired to do my own take on the series here on my own little blog!
In case you weren’t aware, on the daily I work as a cameraman and video editor at a production house in the city. This means that I’m either out and about on shoots, or in the office editing what has just been shot. It’s great fun and super varied – as our clients range across the board so you could be shooting one thing one day, then the other you could be shooting the total opposite. It definitely keeps you busy!
Because of that, I try to balance between dressing in a style that I love, and dressing appropriately for the job and whatever projects I’m working on that week! So, without further ado… (Also, in some cases I haven’t been able to find the EXACT items, similar ones have been linked below! My apologies about that!)
A Day in the Office
I’m a sucker for camel coats. I just love them. I actually picked this one up when I was writing this blog post. I was searching for coats that were similar to the grey one I was raving about, and stumbled across this on ASOS for a great price! I picked it up and fell in love with it when it arrived (isn’t next day delivery a beautiful thing?)
I also love coordinating the camel colour with black and cream – I’d definitely opt for a full-black outfit with a camel coat as a pop of colour – but Scott always complains that I take it a little OTT when I do that! #Damn. What do you guys think!?
Also, I’m definitely a big fan of my little briefcase. I picked this up from ASOS, and it’s super quick and easy to throw and pair with any outfits. It also comes with a crossbody strap, which is always great!
A Day on Set
When I picked up this Calvin Klein jumper, I fell in love. I picked it up in the States and spoke about where I got it specifically in this blog post. I love the colour, and actually got my Sister’s fiance the same jumper but in the opposite colours (dark grey/black) as a birthday present! I’m super excited to return there next March to pick up some more Calvin Klein clothes because they’re so comfy and perfect for wearing regardless of if you’re lounging around or heading out on a shoot for a day’s work!
Also, I’m borderline obsessed with Chelsea boots at the moment – I have this grey pair, and another in black. They work for almost every outfit and always give a great professional vibe to something that might appear more dressed down. Perfect if you’re throwing on something you think is less smart and more casual!
A Day on Set
This coat is legitimately the warmest thing I own. It has fleece layering inside, and the puffy effect keeps you from feeling almost any wind chill. Best of all, I grabbed it in a sale last Christmas before heading to Iceland for the grand total of £25! It’s from the brand Soul Cal & Co, which I picked up from Sports Direct (because they always seem to have the best sales) and I’ve never looked back!
It’s perfect when you’re out and about in the colder weather and don’t need to look insanely smart. Here I threw it over my olive green oxford shirt, dark blue jeans and had some black Nike kicks on for ease when wandering around!
A Day in the Office
I’ve already written a love letter to this scarf, which you can read here. But nothing says winter to me more than this scarf paired with this grey coat (for some reason). Like I said, I’m obsessed with these Chelsea boots and honestly can’t get enough of them.
This sort of outfit is perfect for the office, as it’s super relaxed and comfortable, but still feels dressy and prepared for anything you might deal with in the day-to-day, from impromptu meetings and heading out on various trips or journies to get stuff done.
A Day in the Office
This jumper. I love it so much. I wrote about it here, and how I was unsure of whether it was too long or just long enough. And, in my opinion, it’s the latter. It’s super slouchy and comfortable, perfect for any dress down Friday’s – and then when paired with black jeans and boots I feel like it comes off smarter than your average blanket number. Also, I’m in love with the sage colour (for some reason my heart beats to the colour green recently) and I could pair it with almost anything in my wardrobe, which I love!
What do you think of the Mennace jumper? I also love the material, it feels almost a bit flannel-y, so it’s really thick and nice to wrap up with during the colder days and nights that November/December bring!
