The January Edit: Skincare, Lifestyle & Fashion Picks

I can’t believe how fast the first month of 2018 has flown by. I really wanted to get back on track with my posting schedule here on the blog (which you may have noticed went a little haywire towards the end of the year!) but I’m super happy to have been back and posting twice a week since the first. I also hit 4,000 followers on Instagram this week (woohoo!!!) which was super amazing, and I absolutely love sharing my life with you guys over there (if you want to check it out, I’m sure I’ve linked to it above but also click here!)

Since the start of the year, I’ve been thinking about incorporating a ‘favourites’ themed series into my blog. I seem to have gotten a little obsessed with listing posts, and with everything that I’m trying to challenge myself to experiment with this year, I thought that getting involved with my favourites of the year would be a great idea not just to push myself to try more products and figure out more of what works for me, but also to track the products and pieces that I’m loving as the months and seasons change!

I’m going to have a wrap-up of all the products together just below, and then below that, there’ll be a short breakdown of what I love about each product one by one.

What I’ve Loved Through January

L’Oreal Paris Pure Clay Detox Face Mask – This has to be my favourite face mask that I’ve had, ever. I’ve always wanted to try a charcoal mask but had been dubious about the effects that it would have on my skin. After I had seen Victoria mention it in her 2017 wrap up video, I took it as a sign that I should nab it as I’d been thinking about that exact product for a few weeks prior. It’s safe to say that it was a great idea though because I’ve been using it twice weekly since and absolutely loving it!

Bleu de Chanel Fragrance – This fragrance has been a favourite of mine for years. Ever since working on the perfumery counter, I fell head over heels for this scent and have been keeping my collection stocked up with it ever since. I love the iconic Chanel musk, and I think it works year round (but especially great during the Winter months!)

Roll Neck Jumpers – Roll neck jumpers have been my absolute jam lately. I have a blog post coming up with a few of my favourites, but I absolutely love the style and I think they look fantastic when they’re both dressed up or down. Versatile and classy!

Chelsea Boots – Chelsea boots are another personal favourite of mine. I had never really tried wearing them until a year or two ago, and ever since I’ve been obsessed. They look great during the colder months styled with jeans or chinos, and one thing I love most about them is how they add a little extra class to your outfit. Great for dressing up or giving a more mature look to whatever you’re styling!

St Tropez In-Shower Gradual Tanner – I’m mega pale. Like, to a scary amount. And I’m also awful at applying self-tanner – I hate the feeling of being greasy or having product sat on my skin while I wait for it to absorb. And that’s why St Tropez’ in shower one is a LIFESAVER for me. You apply it while you’re in the shower (as per the name) and then wait 3 minutes before washing it off. 3 MINUTES! That’s amazing. It’s a gradual tanner so you can build it up as much as you’d like, and I haven’t found that it’s given me anything unsightly at all!

Apple Watch – I mentioned in this post how I love going to the gym. For the past 2 years, Scott and I have made it a weekly routine to go at least 3 times, and we’ve never looked back. Since incorporating an Apple Watch into my gym routine during December, I’ve been more motivated than ever to work out, too! With the Workouts app on the watch, you can monitor and log each and every one you’re doing and then review your stats all the way down to your heart rate. It’s great for an accurate measure of calories burned, or for keeping track how you’re performing during a session. This could be my favourite purchase of 2017!

Maxtor 4TB USB 3.0 Harddrive – Guys, my little organisational heart flutters at this bad boy. My computer space has been severely lacking this past year, and with all the photos Scott and I take (as well as videos for upcoming projects) I’ve been in the market for a new hard drive for a while. After purchasing this little guy, I’ve never looked back. Everything is organised on there down to a tee, meaning that I have an on-the-go system of photographs, videos and all the files that I could possibly need at the tip of my fingers. It’s the exact solution I’ve been looking for, and one that I’m shouting from the rooftops about how much I love it!
