Fall fashion is one of my favourite things about the season. From the chunky knits to the different shades and the multiple layers. There are so many variations of fall outfits that make this season one to watch in terms of personality and flair that comes out in fashion. I’m a self-confessed newbie when it comes to fash-un, especially when putting outfits together. I’ve learnt as I’ve gone. But, one thing that’s truly drawn me into this world of blogging about style has been the amount of personality and individuality that I see in not just my own style, but the style of others too.
There’s a magic in the way that people dress. It’s as though they’re taking their personalities and splashing it across themselves as a canvas. From the tops to the tucks, the belts, pants and shoes. Every piece represents a little bit of who they are, and how they wear it tells even more. So when it comes to fall outfits: it’s the perfect pairing of a beautiful season with incredible clothes, and we are greeted with some awesome styles.
Today I wanted to talk about a few fall outfits that will be dominating this season in particular. Genres of styles that I’ve already seen a lot of in the past few weeks of cooler weather.

Fall Outfits Style #1
The Comfy Casual Look
Chelsea boots, jeans and a comfy jumper are some of my personal go-to fall outfits. It’s essentially the equivalent of jeans and a tee during summer, but for fall.
While also looking comfy and casual, pairing a more tailored jumper with your outfit gives a more put together vibe. It’s great for weekends or evenings out with your friends and loved ones.
Fall Outfits Style #2
The Preppy Look
The fall outfit staple that I usually spring for, a shirt layered under a jumper for a more preppy look.
I’ve always liked seeing a shirt collar peeking out under a jumper. And when paired with jeans and some comfortable shoes – it’s a great outfit to wear out and about during the fall months.
Fall Outfits Style #3
The Rugged-Stylish Look
An outfit style that I rarely wear, but I’m a huge fan of – pairing chinos with a longer coat and the right hat. This gives off real rugged vibes.
I love the earth tones that are paired together in this picture too. With the khaki coat, stone chinos and dark blush hat. They’re all great.
Fall Outfits Style #4
The Smart Casual Look
Dressing up during the fall months isn’t hard. With most people opting for layering, with a simple tuck that can make all the difference.
Layering a cardigan on top of a thin sweater, with a shirt underneath tucked into pants with a belt. This is a quick and easy way to give a real smart casual vibe to your fall outfits. Showing off accessories like belts and watches always elevate outfits, and by using accent colours that match your shoes, you can tie an entire outfit together immediately.
Fall Outfits Style #5
The Collegiate Look
A final, and favourite fall outfits style of mine: collegiate. Since before visiting University I was always a fan of the super preppy/collegiate style of dressing. And since leaving, it’s always something I reprise fall after fall.
Breaking out blazers, graphic sweaters and shirts – paired with chinos and loafers give off a great collegiate outfit vibe. A classic vibe for effortless fall style.
I’d love to know what your go-to fall outfits are. Whether you have any essential pieces that you wear and wear again, or whether you love updating your wardrobe annually with a bunch of new pieces. Personally, I find myself collecting little pieces as I go, sometimes they’re fast fashion pieces that I know won’t see the following year – but then, sometimes they’re investment pieces that I know will match with fall outfits for years to come.
My overcoats are my favourite fall outfit pieces. I pair them with as much as I possibly can! As always, thank-you for reading and I’ll see you again on Monday.
