I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but over the past two weeks Mile in My Glasses has undergone some subtle changes and I’m so excited to be sharing them with you. As I’ve said from the day Mile in My Glasses went live, this site has been a journal of sorts for me. Its been somewhere that I’ve loved to scribble my thoughts, feelings, plans and passions. And I wanted my site to reflect that more on the design side.
As I mentioned in this blog post, I’ve wanted to be more considered and curated with my content. Going to lengths to make posts feel more editorial, and designing my site to have quite a professional aesthetic. Now I wanted to inject some fun into it, which is where you might have seen the brush strokes starting to pop up. From my header image, to my site icon and Instagram story designs, I’ve had a lot of fun adding a subtle change to designs that I’m already over the moon with.
I love to play around with the colour palette on my site, and have fun deciding how it represents me as I am currently. It’s one of my favourite things about having a blog, the amount of customisation and design choices you have for your space.
I also launched a Twitter account last week, which I can’t seem to stop tweeting from, and have redesigned my YouTube channel in the hopes that once Scott and I start getting into our home, I can start consistently creating content for that medium, too. As you’ll know if you’ve read Mile in My Glasses for a while, video production has been my career for the past 8 years, so it only seems natural to plan growth onto YouTube aswell.
I’ve been feeling so inspired lately, and making these little changes has made a world of difference, too. There’s nothing quite like a figurative coat of paint to make everything feel shiny and new again. A virtual Spring cleaning, if you will.
How are you feeling creatively right now?
