Raise your hand if you’ve ever felt personally victimised by white denim. Is your hand raised? Because mine sure is. I have tried to pull off the white jean trend time and time again. So many times in fact, that I have 4 different styles of white denim in my wardrobe that I’ve never worn more than 2 days in a row because every time I wear them, I wonder why I thought I’d be able to make them work with me/my wardrobe. I have always loved the lighter look of white denim, but this Summer I finally picked up an alternative that works so well that I’ve been able to wear them time and time again.
The answer? Practically any colour that is off-white. Even if it’s only slightly off-white, it still works so much better than the stark colour of white jeans. I fell in love with these off-white linen-look cropped trousers from Moss Bros that are ever so slightly stone. And they pair with all the outfits that I tried to make white jeans work with.
I’m not sure if it’s the colour, the fit, or just the outfits that I tried, but for some reason white jeans just don’t work on me. It’s something I’ve had to accept and move on with. *Haha*. I’ve listed below a group of white jean alternatives that you could definitely pull off this Summer/Autumn/Winter/Spring, essentially whenever you want, these colours will work for you. And they should bring the fresh-cut look that you’re aiming for from white denim jeans.
