Now that we’re over mid-way into September, I can’t hold back from sharing a few inspiration pieces behind how I’m decorating my house for the Autumn months. (Not that I’ve exactly held back previously… ). Decorating for a new season is one of my favourite things, and whether incorporating candles, throws, rugs or artwork – there are lots of places you can bring a small dash of something new to create a big effect on your living space. Below are just some pieces of homeware inspiration for Autumn, but hopefully it’s enough to give you a broader idea of colours, textures and tones you can incorporate into your home.
My favourite place to start is always with candles. If you missed me singing about my favourite candles here, my go-to brand is D.W. Home, or Sand and Fog. I pick both of them up at T.K. Maxx or Homesense, and find myself browsing the aisles quite regularly for new scents to add to my collection. This year, I’ve been burning the Pumpkin Coconut scent by Sand and Fog (and loving it!) in the living room, as well as the Salted Pumpkin and Caramel scent by D.W. Home in our kitchen for a warmer just-been-baking vibe.
Rugs and throws are also a great place to incorporate some seasonal inspiration, and the likes of H&M, Primark, Homesense or Next Home are all great places to shop for seasonal, and cheaper, pieces. I love H&M in particular recently, and have linked quite a few great choices below.
In the kitchen, I’ve always been a fan of more wood-themed pieces anyway, but I feel like these tie in particularly well with Autumn as the brown tones give a heartier, rustic vibe to whatever you’re using it for.
I’d love to know what kind of Autumn trinkets you like displaying in your home. Do you decorate seasonally, or bring out any pieces that give your home that annual transition? Be sure to let me know in the comments below!
