Happy Sunday! I can’t believe another week has flown by just like that. And, boy, has this one been busy! For those following the journey of moving into our new home – Scott and I are still finishing off snags with the builders. For those who don’t know, once you purchase a new-build home, you have a “snagging” period where you can make them aware of any imperfections throughout your home and they’ll fix them as per the building specs.
For Scott and I, our snagging list wasn’t too extensive (at most it had 90 items on it, but most of them were vanity rather than anything serious). It’s just been the very few serious ones that have taken the longest to finish. Things like fencing to the side of our property, changing a window from regular glass to privacy, and relaying our garden turf because it wasn’t excavated and cleared beforehand. Regardless, it has been a fantastic process, and I love our new home like nothing else. Knowing that we’re on the final running now makes everything all the sweeter.
Inside, we’ve been slowly building furniture and hanging pieces on the walls. As of right this second, our only rooms that are semi-done are the lounge and the master bedroom. Our master en-suite is just an explosion of products, and the main bathroom is empty. The two other bedrooms in our home are also completely bare (except for the wardrobes where Scott and I are figuring out what goes where!). So it’s all fun and games!
This week on the blog, I shared the Autumn homeware I’ve been buying to celebrate the new season. Autumn has always been my favourite: the crisp air, warm spices and comfy layers get my heart beating extra fast. I also shared the sleepwear that I reach for as the temperature drops with some of my favourite sleepwear picks to wear daily.
This past week we also had a joiner in to begin quoting a few future projects, so I’m feeling really excited and positive for the future. This entire month has flown by so fast that I can’t quite believe we’re actually nearing the end of September. It feels like yesterday I was screaming about how excited I was for the month to begin, and now we’re already looking back from the other side.
I’d love to know what your favourite accomplishment of the month has been, and how you’re generally feeling this time of year, below.
